SECP
SECP was established in 1997 to replace the Corporate Law Authority. Over the years, its scope has expanded significantly. The introduction of the e-Services Portal in 2008 enabled businesses to complete registration and compliance requirements online, making corporate regulation more efficient.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) is tasked with regulating the corporate sector, capital markets, non-banking financial institutions, and insurance companies. It serves as the primary regulatory authority for businesses, ensuring transparency, accountability, and adherence to corporate laws.
Purpose and Uses
Company Registration: Sole proprietorships, partnerships, private limited companies, and public limited companies must register with SECP to gain legal recognition. Provides a legal framework for companies to operate, ensuring compliance with national laws.
Corporate Governance: Regulates corporate activities to reduce risks of fraud and malpractices. Enhances investor confidence by ensuring transparency in business dealings.
Licensing and Oversight: Grants licenses to non-banking financial institutions, mutual funds, and other regulated entities. Ensures fair practices in capital markets and protects investor interests.
E-Services Portal: Introduced for online company registration, statutory filings, and compliance reporting. Facilitates faster processing and reduces bureaucratic hurdles.
Tax Integration: SECP-registered companies are automatically integrated with FBR, simplifying the tax compliance process.
